Winter Trip to KOFA National Wildlife Refuge

Destination Kofa National Wildlife Refuge

Our first destination after getting “hitched” (the honeymoon?) was a picturesque piece of Arizona’s Sonoran desert near Quartzsite – Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is over 650,000 acres and has several access points, all from highway 95. It has two dominant mountain ranges: Kofa Mountains in the north and Castle Dome Mountains in the south. Last year we boondocked out Castle Dome Road where we had our solar system installed – see post.
